En Plein Air

6/2/2011

Finally the rain has stopped. I was building an ark, for real! So today we were given a perfect day for painting outdoors. Temps in the 70's, sunshine, and we had a day for my watercolor class to paint outdoors in the charming streets of Birmingham MI. It had rained heavily for at least 3 previous Thursdays, although the plein air painting was on the agenda. Most of my students haven't had the experience of painting directly from the real world in that way. The results today were charming, and it sure made me anxious to revisit the locale with its gingerbread houses...to paint for myself. We'll see if the weather can support this in the next few days. Looking forward to getting out there again and having some Summer! Look, I even blogged in GREEN!
