KAREN HALPERN-ARTIST

Hanging the Show Today

1/7/2013

Within a couple of hours we were able to mount the Independent Painters Portrait Exhibition at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. The paintings are very nice quality, so if you are in the area, 14 Mile Rd. at Cranbrook Rd., stop by and take a look. As I mentioned in a previous post, those of you in the area are invited to attend the "opening reception", Friday evening of this week, January 11th, 6-8 pm.

Beyond that plug (they'll probably want me on David Letterman's show later this week!) my day was my first day back teaching since my 3 week break, which was only broken with the sound of my persistent coughing. Being back to the classes I teach is always a pleasure. But my stamina is down and my cough, although diminishing, is still a present factor. The bronchitis shouldn't last too much longer! after all, I have a life to live!

I probably won't get back to my painting until perhaps Thursday evening, when I have more time and energy to face it in the right spirit to be productive.
