Great model in figure drawing

Figure Sketch from today's life drawing session. I felt like I was drawing well today. Took a look at the sketches back in my studio, and felt good about the work I'd done. Below is another of today's sketches. In this piece I chose to focus on the torso and upper legs instead of on the total figure.

The model arrived with a prop that seemed to dictate some of the poses he displayed. Here he was supported by a tall pole. One of the things that happens with the use of a prop of some kind is that the model often assumes poses that seem more athletic, and use muscles to a greater extent than a typical standing pose.
