Finally painted outdoors today! It's been too long in coming! Had a great time painting one of the homes in Birmingham MI that I admire in that scenic way of old world charm that has been preserved. I have to give it a couple more strokes before I call it complete. That will be based on photos I took with shadows and sunlight around 3pm. Painted until after 6pm, so things had changed considerably by then.
I'm also ready to begin painting my large canvas. Don't know if I have the energy left tonight. Painting outdoors is always pretty draining...
But otherwise I'm ready to move on it. Tomorrow morning is the figure session I attend, and now, having found my bag that actually has the right supplies in it, I am ready to take on the challenge again. Last week I felt handicapped by not having blue or black with me to create enough contrast, as I could not find the bag of supplies from end of June, when we last met for a figure session. When I found my misplaced bag, everything else that I couldn't find started showing up as well. Not all in one place...as you might imagine...but here and there, within a day or two. Still haven't located the artificial strawberries that I bring to class sometimes for my students to use in still life painting. Have to assume they will show up also. Keep your eyes open!
