It felt great to be back into drawing from the figure again. Hadn't been away long enough to have forgotten how to do it. I was relieved that enough people decided to participate. The word is that we will meet 5 sessions. Does that include the one we just had? Or does it mean 5 more? Don't know. I did add those new sketches to the "Portrait and Figure" page on this website, where I placed them among those in the rotating slide presentation. Have a look, if you get a chance!
An update on my large acrylic painting that I've been developing sketches for:
The sketches are finished. I made a commitment to one that's filled with many images. I decided to paint my own vision of the event involved, not its actuality, but what else is new? What would be the purpose in making it simply pictorial without a personal "take" on the scenario and its meaning to me as I have absorbed the "truth" of what transpired? Hoping to get it enlarged onto the 36" x 60" canvas in the next couple of days, but not looking forward to moving the canvas again. It currently sits perched on my easel downstairs. It was tough to lift it up there originally, (you know, because of the pull of gravity and all) its really unwealdy, as well. But can't wait to see my sketch on the canvas. Moving forward.....
