New season, new semester,
follow up to a summer of outdoor painting of landscapes. My experience in my drop-in figure drawing class, after approaching the endeavor somewhat hesitantly, I relaxed and had a great time. The reclining figure below was drawn with a grease pencil and given depth by using gouache for the negative spaces. I loved the configuration of the repeat angles in the elbows and knees.
Below is another sketch from that session, completed with a watercolor wash behind the sculptural pose.
