Royal Oak Library Exhibit

As many of you know, Southwest images run in my blood. And so, for my exhibition at the Royal Oak Library,  11 Mile Rd., Royal Oak MI, I elected to display a few of the acrylic paintings I've done over time, depicting, in my semi-abstract, interpretive style, scenery from New Mexico and Arizona that is based on my delicious visits to that part of the country.

The painting you see above is not one of those in the exhibit. I just posted it to "wet your whistle".  The show there is limited to 4 paintings that fill a showcase to the left of the entry doors to the library.  I just hung the show yesterday, and it will be on display throughout the month of January, with a possible extension thru February 2013. If you get a chance, stop by and take a look, but be sure to check the library's schedule first. Hope the colorful show will "take your breath away". For those of you only familiar with my watercolor paintings, my acrylics are a total departure into another mode of thinking and expression for me. This dichotomy has been true for as long as I can recall! And that's the GOOD PART!
