Young Man in Our Midst3/28/2013 This young man posed for us in the Portrait class I attend. A refreshing face, an individual who hasn't been our subject before. Although I am developing an acrylic painting of him during class sessions (we meet again tomorrow), I couldn't resist attempting a watercolor painting from the photos I took of him during class last week. My goal was to concentrate on his face and his hand, letting the rest of the painting function as a connective between them. I wanted the image to be pretty stark on the page. It has a very different quality than the acrylic portrait I'm working on, but I feel thatthey represent him equally well, in varied ways. I'm so anxious to get back to the other piece. I'll post it here when it's complete.
